The Story

The 100 Moms Project was born from a heartfelt conversation between Jill, a Boudoir Photographer and Relationship Coach and Courtney, an Esthetician at Natura Skin Boutique. As they caught up over coffee, they reflected on a shared truth—too many moms pour endlessly into others while neglecting themselves.

As mothers who work in the self love space, Jill and Courtney, know firsthand that self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. So many moms put themselves last, whether by default or circumstance, without understanding the compounded weight of responsibility, the power of self-investment and the belonging and community it can bring as a byproduct . A mom who feels supported, cared for, and empowered shows up differently in her life. She cultivates a growth mindset, radiates confidence, and elevates those around her. That realization sparked a bigger vision—to create something tangible for the women of Western New York.

The 100 Moms Project is the first step toward that mission. This initiative will help fund To the Roots, a nonprofit dedicated to providing self-care services and luxury experiences to moms who need them most. Because when moms thrive, families and communities do too. Join us in making self-love accessible to every mom.

Why This Project Matters

When we support the mother's in our community, we aren't just supporting her, but every person that woman touches. Her children, her partner, her friends, and coworkers.

When she is supported everyone in her life feels the impact.

Photography in itself is a time stamp. It gives us the ability to mark a moment that you may look back upon with wonder, excitement, and transformation.

This project to photograph 100 women is to give them that experience of being seen for who they are right now- not who they used to be or who they will become but for all that they are right now!

The mission of this project is twofold, give moms a change to give back to themselves with self care and connection while also support future moms do the same for themselves.

And the bonus we also are support our own woman owned business here in Western New York.

When mothers are supported, they are
more likely to be engaged in their communities, volunteer, and contribute to local economies
(UNICEF)

Moms who prioritize self-care
experience 40% lower rates of anxiety and depression, leading to better overall health (National Institute of Mental Health)

Kids with moms who practice self-care are
more emotionally secure and resilient
because they model self-worth and emotional regulation (Harvard Center on the Developing Child)

What Is a Boudoir, Really? | Buffalo, NY Boudoir Photography

When most people search “what is boudoir?” they’re usually given a simple answer:

A boudoir is a bedroom or private dressing space.

But boudoir—especially in photography—is so much more than that.

A boudoir is not just a room.

It’s her internal world.

Her whispers.

The place within her where everything lives—

the joy, the grief, the pleasure, the fantasy, the anger… all of it.

It is what exists behind closed doors.

And a boudoir photo session is where she allows herself to be seen—

a peek behind the curtain, revealing the most precious parts of who she is.

bou·doir /ˈbo͞odˌwär/

A private space where a woman dresses, adorns herself, softens.

Where she sits, exhales, and lets her wildest truths dance freely in her imagination.

I imagine it as a place that feels safe and calm.

The lights are dim.

The sheets are soft.

Her body is at ease.

Her mind is free to wander—to desire, to feel, to be.

This is her boudoir.

What Is a Boudoir Session? (Buffalo, NY Boudoir Experience)

A boudoir session is an intimate, guided photography experience designed to reconnect you with yourself—your body, your emotions, and your expression.

At my Buffalo, NY Boudoir Photography Studio, these sessions are designed to create a safe, empowering, and deeply personal experience.

Yes, it often takes place in a bedroom or studio setting.

Yes, it can include lingerie or sensual styling.

But at its core, it’s not about what you wear—

It’s about what you’re ready to reveal.

In a boudoir session, you’re invited into a space where you can slow down, feel safe, and explore the parts of yourself that don’t always get seen in your everyday life.

No masking.

No coding.

No wondering, “Am I too much for this space?”

This is for the parts of you that…

  • want to feel confident and embodied

  • crave expression and creativity

  • hold desires you haven’t fully spoken out loud

  • want to feel desired, playful, fully alive

  • miss feeling seen—even by yourself

This is where you meet her.

It’s a place where you can come undone.

A space not everyone is invited into.

Maybe, at most, someone is allowed a quiet glimpse—

a peek through the keyhole into your world, into your deepest desires.

Because this version of you… It isn’t for everyone.

What Does Boudoir Look Like? (Buffalo Boudoir Photography Style)

I've been connected to boudoir since I was a child.

As a young girl, I loved to play dress up—

decorating myself in black lace, red heels, and flowy dresses that hung too big on my tiny frame.

I didn’t hold back from wearing whatever felt exciting, expressive… me.

Boudoir is that same energy—just evolved.

It’s where we get to play again, but with intention.

Where the experience holds us more deeply.

Where a woman gets to remember who she’s always been.

It’s taking what lives behind closed doors.

and allowing it to be seen.

In my Buffalo boudoir sessions, this can look like:

  • lingerie, strappy pieces, or bare skin

  • an outfit you’ve never had a place to wear

  • cozy, oversized pieces or soft, intimate styling

  • or simply you, wrapped in sheets, fully present in your body

Boudoir can be:

  • sensual or soft

  • playful or powerful

  • moody or light-filled

  • styled or completely natural

There are no rules.

If it makes you feel something—

if it helps you express yourself—

if it awakens a part of you you haven’t seen in a while…

It belongs here.

Why Book a Boudoir Session in Buffalo, NY?

So why does she want this?

Why does she want to feel seen, empowered, free?

Because boudoir is more than photos—it’s an experience.

When my clients step into my Buffalo, NY Boudoir Photography Studio, I tell them this:

You get to wear whatever you want.

If it makes you feel something—wear it.

It doesn’t have to be lingerie.

It doesn’t have to be a flowing dress.

There are no rules here.

People book boudoir sessions for many reasons—but the most powerful ones go deeper:

1. To Feel Confident in Your Body

To see yourself in a way that is soft, powerful, and deeply affirming.

2. To Reconnect With Yourself

To slow down and come back home to your body and your truth.

3. To Celebrate a Chapter of Your Life

A birthday, engagement, or personal transformation.

4. To Express a Side of You That Stays Hidden

The playful, sensual, unapologetic version of you.

5. To Create Something Just for You

While some gift these images, many do this purely for themselves.

Because you deserve to be witnessed.

What a Boudoir Really Is

A boudoir is a space where you can come undone.

A place not everyone is invited into.

Maybe, at most, someone gets a quiet glimpse—

a peek through the keyhole into your world.

But most importantly…

It’s a space that is for you.
